Airport Baggage Officer

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload baggage from aircraft, baggage carts, and conveyor belts.
• Sort and tag luggage according to flight details and destination.
• Operate baggage handling equipment and machinery safely.
• Ensure that all baggage is handled with care to avoid damage.
• Assist in resolving issues related to lost, delayed, or damaged luggage.
• Maintain accurate records of baggage handling and report any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with other airport staff to ensure smooth and efficient baggage operations.
• Follow all safety and security protocols while handling baggage.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in baggage handling or a similar role is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
