Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Supermarket Cashier to process customer transactions accurately and provide efficient service at the checkout. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling payments and assisting customers in a busy supermarket environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scan products and process customer purchases accurately
- Accept cash, card, and digital payments
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Issue receipts and process returns or exchanges according to company procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Assist customers with basic product and pricing inquiries
- Balance the cash drawer and report discrepancies when required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Good communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred
